Brew like a pro from the start

Even the best homebrewers have some pretty entertaining stories about the trials and errors of their early brews. All that is part of the fun, but we can help you avoid some common pitfalls and brew stellar beer from the get-go  with our monthly homebrewing classes.       > > See upcoming class schedule.

Our beginner’s brew classes take you through the entire brewing process start to finish. Hosted by owner Alex with over 10 years of brewing experience (and the source of those fancy ribbons on the wall), we’ll discuss in depth every step from sanitation to fermentation to packaging as we brew a batch from one of our kits. This is a small group, hands on experience perfect for new brewers to learn the ins and outs of the process.

Even more experienced homebrewers have found our classes a great opportunity to refine their techniques. Plus, as a licensed brew on premise facility, we are able to share the fruits of our brew by dividing the beer among the participants after our follow up bottling session two weeks later.

We also offer advanced all-grain brewing classes three for four times a year for folks looking to take their homebrew to the next level. You’ll experience firsthand the difference in the equipment and brew process with plenty of time to answer all of your questions. And again you’ll take home some of the class beer so you’ll have something to enjoy while you whip up your next batch!

Why Our Recipes?

Why our recipes? Hops & Vines’ kits are so popular because our brewers have won ribbon after ribbon in regional and national competitions. We’ve formulated recipes for dozens of styles from the classics to clones of local favorites! But rest assured if you don’t see what you want we can create a custom kit for you on the spot.  For advanced brewers, we’ve got all your raw materials available in bulk, measured and milled to order.

Meet your fellow homebrewers

The best part about learning to brew great beer is sharing it with friends! On the first Thursday of every month we host Homebrewer’s Night at Hops & Vines. We invite you to bring your latest concoction to share with your fellow brewers. You’ll get great feedback, new ideas, and a chance for some pretty intense beer geek talk. But don’t be intimidated! If you’re new to the hobby, Homebrew Night is perfect for getting your feet wet and finding out what homebrewing is all about.

Homebrew Workshops

Our new homebrew workshops are monthly discussions focusing on a single homebrewing topic. The format includes a short presentation on topics such as hop styles, learning to create your own recipes, water treatment, or mead and cider making. We’ll then open up the discussion for lots of Q&A. Workshops are the perfect opportunity to learn more about the hobby and take your brewing to the next level. Best of all, they are free!
